Help with Summary Statement

meadITmeadIT Member Posts: 581 ■■■■□□□□□□
I'm having a rough time coming up with a good Summary statement for my resume. I am finishing up my Associate's degree in Networking, but I don't currently work in the IT field.

So far I've come up with:

CompTIA Certified Network+ Professional, soon-to-be graduate of [School's name] with an Associate's of Applied Science degree in Information Technology with a specialization in Networking.

Any suggestions? If it helps, you can see my resume @ http://www.bkmeadows.com/webresume.doc

I wouldnt put your highschool information on your resume. That's like 15 years ago.

Are you applying to a SPECIFIC position or general cold calling/sending of jobs? Try something like:

"Seeking position as ___, applying skills of computers, networks in preforming responsibilities of ___, ___, and ___.
Jack of all trades, master of none

I've removed my objective because it is kindda pointless if you think about it. almsot everyone's is someling like

"to gain employment in the "field name" and work my way up. it says nothing about you.

    instead I used something like

Proven It professional with 4 year of experience. I recently graduate with honour from XYZ with a diploma in Network and internet security. At my last job I consistently performed in the top 2% of over 1000 employees.

I tihkn that was pretty much the exact wording. It obviously will not work well for someone with out experience but if you have experience use number to back up your argument.

you need to WOW the person reading your resume and get there attention facts and figures can do that for you... maybeu had a 4.0 GPA... put that there....you need to give thme a reason to take a better look at ur resume instead of the other 100 on thier desk.

I diagree although it is kindda old info it should be there it differntiates someone who has a high schol diploma from someone with a GED or mature student status. As crazy as it sounds I've seen a lot of places make you show nthe your highschool diploma even with a degree under your belt.
