I took the network+ exam one month ago and since that time I have been preparing to take the security+. How hard is this one compare to the network+ exam.

THank you,

Margot

    Hi Margot.
In my opinion it's no contest, the Sec+ is much harder. I prepared for about 3-4 months for Sec+ and passed with a decent score. The NET+ I prepared for about 2 weeks and passed with a high score.
All things are possible, only believe.

    Margot,

I have not actually taken the Network+ test yet and I am currently studying for the Security+ exam. I have seen some practice questions for the Net+ and it looks like something I could pass relatively easily with a couple of weeks review time. The security+ will take more time to study for. First, it has a higher pass percentage. Second, the concepts are a bit more complex. It isn't necessarily hard, but it will take more effort to understand than the Network+ exam did. IMO

    Good Luck
Going for MCSE:security, Intermediate ITIL, PMP

For the Network+ exam, Comptia recommends the A+ and 9 months of network experience.

Comptia recommends that Security+ candidates have at least two years on-the-job networking experience, with an emphasis on security. The CompTIA Network+ certification is also recommended. icon_cool.gif
