Reseting PIX 506 password
This question is not generally related the CCNP but ii figured this would be the best place to ask the question...
I have a Cisco PIX 506 Firewall. I dont know the password and i need to reset it. I have followed the steps from the following link:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/110/34.shtml
However i cant even get to a point where i can ping the firewall. I just need to know some basic thing. I have connected the router directly to my computer through a network cable, do i need to use a cross over or straight through?
I would really like to just delete the whole startup config and have a fresh slate like i would with a router if i deleted the startup config... Is this possible?
Any other tips that would help me out?
thanks
