Win XP - Standby Mode
pattoricky
I would like to run a backup task on a PC at night while he user has logged off and is at home (or wherever). Can a scheduled task take a PC out of standby mode? If yes, what happens afterwards (can it be set to return to standby)?

Unless it's a laptop why bother having standby mode enabled? I suppose some places require it for the savings on the electric bill, but personally I would turn off stand-by mode in the Power Options.
However, in the scheduled tasks on the Settings Tab at the bottom there is a check box to "Wake the computer to run this task". It's for "Sleep" mode, but it may work for stand-by too.
