in Server+
Hay group! I had job interview, one question was if the server is suddenly down what is the first step you should make? Any one know answer drop me please.

    Start gathering backups, check network connections, see how many users are affected. Is there a backup server that you can roll the users to?

    Check if server has power, NOS is running and network connectivity first, then check logs and monitoring system, if there is an error in the log, verify what is the extent of the damage (check the affected services) and be sure to have a failover server or your server should be clustered so that it will fail over to another one, before you can repair it and fail it back. Be sure to have a backup......

    There are too many things to consider when server is down, just be sure...Redundancy, Backup, Documentation and Disaster Recovery Plan is included in your deployment and management plan....
