When to use Multipoint for Frame Relay?

Hi everyone,
This might sound nutty, but I can not find a good example of a frame relay configuration that acutally uses multipoint on the interface. Even in the Lammel book, he says that you should use multipoint on a router's interface when you are connecting multiple frame relay circuits to it. Yet, in his configuration example, the interfaces are configured like:
!
interface Serial0.102 point-to-point
.
.
interface Serial0.103 point-to-point
So why doesn't he want to use the multipoint if he want to create many spokes on this interface? I can't seem to find anything on it.
Thanks for any info.
