Power supply question

I am building a new computer and have most of the top of the line stuff for it and want to add a 500w speaker system to it. With that and all the other stuff will a 700w power supply work for me?

700 watts is enough to power NASA. 500 watts would be suffient. Too much wattage could fry your chips. Do not buy a power supply over 700 watts.

700watt isnt as much as you think....besides, wattage means nothing unless if you take a careful look at the amp rails table. I have seen 530W PSU that have 16A on the 3.3 and 12V rails.... icon_confused.gif how much of the system will that supply power to? :o

    skives, take a look at:

and add 50 to whatever number you get at the end. That's usually a good guideline to determine how much power you need.
