Hello all,
I have to take a VB.net class this semester and I don't want to waste my cert time (currently studying MS 70-270/290). Is there any certification that I could simultaneous study for that would use VB.net?... the syllabus link is below and the book we are using is:
http://www.amazon.com/Visual-Basic-2005-Program-Deitel/dp/0131869000/sr=11-1/qid=1168994115/ref=sr_11_1/104-3261669-0091928
Syllabus (pages 7-15): http://www.bioinfo.uh.edu/nfofanova/2348SyllabusFall06.doc
Please help, this semester will definitely be getting in the way of my MCSA study time! But I'll just time manage better. Are there any .NET certs or something that I could get after learning a sufficient amount of VB.NET 2005? Please Help!!!

Sorry i didnt realize that you made reference to time being your factor. I really do not know what types of MS development certs there are out there. -
Webmaster Admin Posts: 10,292 AdminI moved your topic to the appropriate forum. What you are looking for is the MCTS certification.
www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcts/default.mspx
In particular, you probably want to start with one of the following two:
- Technology Specialist: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications
- Technology Specialist: .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Applications
Which means you would start with this exam:
www.microsoft.com/learning/exams/70-536.asp
and then Exam 70-526 for Windows Applications, or Exam 70–528 for Web Applications. -

It is a full-featured Integrated Development Environment which is excellent for learning .NET, or learning to program in general.
