I want to get security+ certification and then C|EH before the year ends...

What do you guys think?? Thinks thats possible....i hope its probable..I have very good study habbits and a pretty good knowledge of networking. Just getting into the security part...Also limited knowledge with linux...

If you feel like you need to brush up on some Unix/Linux topics before you go on to the security-focused certs, you could give Linux+ a look, first. Once you feel like you have the background info on the different OS'es and platforms you're working with, (the gamut you've got going of MCSA and CCNA is a good thing, especially if you round it out with a little bit of *NIX stuff too,) then the Security+ probably won't be a huge hurdle for you. It's mainly going to be a lot of "best practices" concepts relating to a lot of the networking and administration knowledge you've already got. There is going to be some stuff you'll have to hammer down on hard, like encryption and writing security policies, but it's relatively basic.

I definitely think you could get your Security+ and C|EH before the end of you the year, so long as you study hard. You could probably have your Security+ by the summertime, (if not sooner, especially if you've already been through the Microsoft security exams,) and hit those C|EH practice labs and scenarios throughout the following months. Good luck, man, and let us know how your studies progress.
