Stupid Question

This is going to sound really dumb but I am going through some of the Boson labs for the ccna and was curious what is the difference between the “enable password” and the “enable secret” commands. It is hard to word my question but I know that one shows up encrypted and one does not but when you enter enable mode you use whatever password you set for the enable secret command but when would you use the “enable password” password? Hope that makes a little bit of sense and I am sure I am going to smack myself in the head when someone replies, explains it to me and then calls me an idiot. LOL!! I really am not dumb I just couldn't find a way that made sense to explain the purpose of each to my coworker. Thanks guys.
