Does anyone know the total number of questions on the Network + exam that you can miss?

That means you can earn a maximum of 800 points with those 85 questions. (so each question is almost 10 points, or exactly 10 if there are five unscored items which could very well be the case). You can 100 points for free, so to pass you need to gather 454 points, roughly 45 questions. That means you can miss roughly 40 questions (or 35 if there are 5 unscored items) and still pass.
If, all questions have an equal part in the score. Some questions may be more worth than others, CompTIA doesn't disclose that type of info.
But if you aim for scoring 85 questions correctly you should have any trouble passing -
