Travel contracts

I need some direction in finding information about contract positions that allow you to travel everywhere. I don't even know what to call it. I know a person who works for PeopleSoft that does some DB installs and another person that configures routers for Bellsouth. Since I'm young and not tied down with anything, I want to see if I can do what some of these positions do.

I can look at Monster or Dice but I want info about what the job entails. What are the companies that offer these positions, job conditions, locations, etc. Is anyone in this forum doing that kind of work?
