1750 router

blowfishblowfish Member Posts: 10 ■□□□□□□□□□
I have just got a 1750 router and a VIC-2FXS card. I cannot see the card when I do a show diag. I am under the assumption that the IOS needs updating...does anyone have any ideas about this ?

You may need a PVDM Module for that 1750.

Building a home CCVP lab could be more expensive than getting a CCIE R&S. icon_lol.gif

Depending on what you are doing, the 2600s, 3600s, 3700s, 6500s will do some of things you need for the CCVP.

I haven't tried Dynamips/Dynagen for the Voice stuff yet -- but I think someone posted they were running CallManager Express with it. I think anything that doesn't need the Voice Modules is fair game for Dynamips.

If you are looking at this as a CCVP lab, you'll need several routers -- and you can mix Dynamips with real routers (and switches).

There are no simulated Voice modules for Dynamips, so you'd still need some real routers for the voice ports. The PVDM for the 1750 may be cheaper than buying a 26xx or 36xx and the NM-1V or NM-2V you'd need to use that VIC-FXS.
