Microsoft Word Apostrophe Key Help

I have been helping a handicaped man over the phone with his computer. He types all of his notes and letters in Word. The problem is when he types the apostrophe key the apostrophe doesnt show up. It will show up in all other applications. The only thing I could think of would be reinstalling Word. If anyone can help me with some solutions I would be greatful. Thanks

    What FONT is he using? Perhaps the font selection doesn't include the apostrophe?


    In case he has the settings 'customized' maybe try to go back to defaults....see if that may help.
