What do you guys think. I mean i know it's cheap but they are used but now power cords or connectors come with it. Do you think it's worth the buy?

mikej412 Member Posts: 10,086 ■■■■■■■■■■I don't know.... there's 6 of them. Are you going to buy them memory upgrades if
needed? Transceivers? Back-to-Back serial cables? Ethernet cables? Power cables?
All those things add up to more $
Sure, they look cute in the picture, but will you still like them when you see how much
dust is inside them? They're a big responsibility. Will you play with them for at least
an hour a day?
If you've thought about it, and are ready to accept the responsibility of owning a home
Cisco Lab, then it sounds like a good deal -- but since they were only tested to power
on, there is still an element of risk.
My best score was 5 2500s for $80 including shipping (2 or 3 were maxed on memory).
But I did get some maxed out 2513s for $10 each plus shipping....
Hopefully everyone here won't jump on and try and beat you out of your deal.
You'll still need something with a FastEthernet interface for trunking -- or a 2610 with
the 10Mb Ethernet and the 12.2T or greater IOS.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -
kafifi13 Member Posts: 259Good point. I should have emailed you guys before i bid. If i don't get these i may just buy something from CiscoKits. I have a simulator but i still want the real thing to build my own lab.

Thanks Mike. I was thinking about talking to the wife tonight about having our first child but now you've got me second guessing."You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!" - Rocky -

I'd probably skip that myself, thats too many.
but on the other hand, i already bought 6 2500's... lol. I'd look into getting a pair of 2514's(2 serial, 2 ethernet) and a 2610 or 2611... that way you can do your trunking and still have enough interfaces to do labs and such.
I did a RIP/IGRP (migrated RIP to IGRP) lab tonight, required 3 routers. suddenly i felt like buying 6 wasn't that dumb.Fantastic. The project manager is inspired.

I am always wary that these things will neer turn up or you buy a picture of the item or something. I geuss I will buy from ebay when I can afford to lose the money into a black hole.Kam. -
Darthn3ss Member Posts: 1,096if it makes you feel better out of ebay 31 transactions every time each party involved was satisfied. that was with me as the seller or me as the buyer... never had a problem, the bum auctions are easy to spot.Fantastic. The project manager is inspired.
