Question on taking CCNP

new2this07new2this07 Member Posts: 1 ■□□□□□□□□□
I am thinking about taking the CCNP exam. My CCNA was expired in 2004. Can I just go ahead and take the CCNP or do I need to renew my CCNA before taking the CCNP? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You'll have to retake your CCNA again. Once it expires you cannot just renew it by taking one of the NP tests. Also, not sure if you know by the wording you used, but the CCNP is not 1 test, rather 4 seperate tests.

You can take the exams in any sequence you want.... but you don't get the CCNP until you also have a valid CCNA -- its a required prerequisite for the CCNP.

Cisco now has a CCNA Prep Center and CCNP Prep Center you may want to check out.
