My short term goal is to be hired by a Cisco Partner into the "Field Engineer" role for the "Advanced Wireless LAN" specialization. According to the Cisco "Role Requirements" webpage for the "Advanced Wireless LAN" specialization, the requirements for the "Field Engineer" role are:
  1. Prerequisite:
    [list:55f4fc9e99]
  2. CCNA
  3. CCNP supercedes CCNA
  4. CCDP supercedes CCNA
  5. CCIP supercedes CCNA
  6. CCIE supercedes CCNA
[*]Required Certification:
  • Advanced Wireless LAN Field Specialist
  • Cisco Lifecycle Services Advanced Wireless

According to the Cisco webpage for the "Advanced Wireless LAN Field Specialist" it lists the requirements as:
  1. Cisco Advanced Wireless LAN Field Specialist Prerequisites:
    [list:55f4fc9e99]
  2. Valid CCNA
[*]Cisco Advanced Wireless LAN Field Specialist Exams & Recommended Training:
  • 642-587 AWLANFE
[/list:o:55f4fc9e99]

I currently hold a valid CCNA so I meet the prerequisite. However, my question is how to proceed from here. Some ideas I have are:
  1. Study the following:
    [list:55f4fc9e99]
  2. Study the 642-812 BCMSN material.
  3. Study for and take the 642-587 AWLANFE exam.
[*]Study the following:
  • Study for and take the 642-812 BCMSN exam.
  • Study for and take the 642-587 AWLANFE exam.
[*]Go directly into studying for and take the 642-587 AWLANFE exam.
[*]Other?
