Cms and telnet password different for 3500xl Switch

I am having a problem with some of our switches where the web and telnet passwords are differnt, and I need to know how to change the web password. On some of our switches there is a new version of the web software that has the option clearly defined, but on alot still the older software.


Please help

P.s Already read the cisco documentation for this switch and it only talks about changing telnet side password

i have no clue about that specific switch but with my routers i've found that the web password is the same as the enable password... maybe that helps/ i donno.

what I will suggest is just use a rollover cable and connect the switch through the IOS interface and do a "show run" if the passwords are not encrypted you will see it in plain text
