NOC technician job might come along...what should I know?

I might get into this NOC tech position which I really want.
They told me Cisco IOS and Unix is important.
When they say Unix what do they mean? Unix utilities? which ones?
What are the industry standard tools NOC technicians use? I kind of want to do some research before I have a chance to work so I can be prepared.

Unix operating systems - possibly BSD, Solaris, or AIX. Sounds like they run Cisco networking equipment and unix servers.All things are possible, only believe. -

I wouldn't say tools per se but unix commands. I am a linux user so I would guess the common commands that you use in Linux.Remington Forbes
