Root Bridge

I am a bit confused with the root bridge. If I have 4 VLANs would I have a root bridge per VLAN or just one root bridge?
I do not just want the answer. I really would like a link to the reason. Or where in the Cisco Press CCNA Self Study by Wendell Odom this info would be.
Many thanks in advance

Abrown1966 Member Posts: 16 ■□□□□□□□□□Looking at Odom's ICND book, Chapter 3, ISL and 802.1Q compared both ISL and 802.1Q support multiple instances of STP for each Vlan. He makes this statement, but does not give any information on configuring this option, so is this a topic that would be covered on the CCNp exam or CCIE?
I hope this helps -
markzab Member Posts: 619Go to google.com and type in a search for "cisco root bridge". I just did it and got pages of what you're looking for."You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!" - Rocky

spanning-tree vlan vlan-id priority bridge-priority
keep reading about how STP works and assigning a vlan priority and any more q's let us know
