2003 or Next Generation

If someone has an MCSE in windows 2000, which do you think will be more valuable in the job market 6 - 12 months from now: obtaining an MCSE in Windows 2003 or obtaining some the next generation in Vista, Exchange 2007 and Longhorn. Please do not take into account that the MCSE 2003 upgrade exams are retiring.

In my opinion I think MCSE 2003 would be the way to go. Alot of companies will use 2003 for years to come and it will be awhile before Server 2007 with become mainstream. Also if you upgrade to 2003 before June 30th you can get a 40% discount to upgrade to 2007.

In the short term get the 2K3 then when you (and the business world) are ready get the 2007.

I agree. Go for the 2003 series and then upgrade eventually to Longhorn.

Thanks for the responses. I think I will take 292 after I finish the 2000 track and then see what to take next. Because the new certification will have to be renewed, I don't want to take them all together and end up having to renew them all together.

Just going to echo what everyone else has already said. The 2003 track will be in demand for the better part of another decade. 2000 still has a heavy presence in the world even today. I would imagine that 2003 will be around for at least another 5-8 years.
