Oh, and in addition to being a smart-alec, I thought I'd recommend a really good book (though a little dated, as it was published in 2001):

Thanks sprky...but I'm also looking for headers and frame formats and packet formats and message formats...

I'm looking for the whole collection! :)

I mean, yeah, I can go online and download a few headers no problem(which I have done). But what I need is a suppository of headers/frames/packets/messages formats...the whole works.

The reason its better to get them from once source is consistency and quality, along with not having to do google searches for hundreds of message formats.

ospf eigrp rip icmp arp ppp chap pap....I mean everything!
I should have changed the title of the thread but Headers sounded cool and most people understand the header.
I want to have slideshow desktop type of thing....

Somebody must have a comprehensive collection somewhere online...hmmmmm

    :)

    Oh, got ya! icon_cool.gif

Not the whole kit and caboodle, but these are some real good IPv6, IPv4, TCP and UDP headers. You could use them as a template/model to create your own.

I like those drawings very much!

I saw those drawings while doing searches for TCP/UDP headers.

If I could get that kind of quality with regards to every message format in existence then I would be happy.

Maybe I should put something like that together and publish it! :)

I have used these in the past. They are not exactly what you are looking for but they are pretty close.
