Unable to open MMC
billybob01
I am running a Windows Server 2003 SP1 DC.
I receive an error message when i try and open any MMC. It says:
MMC cannot open the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\dsa.msc.
This may be because the file does not xist, is not an mmc console, or was created by a later version of mmc. This may also be because you do not have sufficient access rights to the file.
How can i find out the version of mmc? Maybe i need to install R2?

dsa.msc is the Active Directory Users & Computers MMC. It's missing by the looks of things. Try installing the Server 2003 Administration Pack.

Are you on your workstation (XP) or on the server when this happens?
Are you logged in as an administrator?

I am logged on as a Domain Admin. This happens on the DC and also the secondary DC.

Try doing an
sfc /scannow
. It'll fix any damaged/corrupted system files on your system.
