Warcraft II @ 100% CPU???

Im using windows 2000 with 512mb ram PIII 1ghz processor... The CPU usually is only at 2% (when i press alt ctrl del)... When I run warcraftII i see the cpu go from 2% to 100%. Is this normal? icon_confused.gif

    As long as it only peaks there and then comes down you should be alright. Many aps will max out your CPU when they load, but usually dont do that as they are running .... as long as you have enough ram that is.

    Thanks for the prompt reply. :D Its just crazy how a game that was made back in like 1996 and i used to play on my P1 (i got a P3 now)would raise my cpu usage from 2% - 100% and then back to 2% when i exit. Even thought it says 100% i did a test and loaded MS Excel and winamp and everything was overall fine. Thanks for your help!

    I think you will find that it is more the way the data is transferred. Older games used the CPU more as memory was usually in short supply.
