Hey,
I'm going to be starting some Cisco studying and aiming for my CCNA. I have access to 2 or 3 1720 series routers and my question is this: Are they sufficient for a CCNA home lab? I also plan on getting a 2950 switch to throw into the mix. Are these routers to antiquated for a lab, are they even covered in the exam? Please don't redirect me to the FAQ's. I've read every thread already and didn't really see anything about 1720's. Thanks for any help you can offer.

They are one of the options for the Cisco courseware lab setup (either 1720 or 2610). You can use 2500's to study for the CCNA or if you don't want to invest money you can use Dynamips if your PC has enough ram and cpu to do it.The only easy day was yesterday!

You will need at least a Router that does inter-vlan routing and the 1720 can't handle it.
Hope this help.
