What are some examples of Gigabit ethernet? What are some options you can get that are considered Gigabit? Fiber Optic? Wireless? ATM? ETc..etc?

Gb ethernet is the speed, as opposed to Mb per second. Remember, even with Gb ethernet, data only travels at the speed of the slowest device.i remain, he who remains to be.... -

what book(s) are you using? do they not state the media/topologies that can transmit at gigabit?A+ Moderator

Cat 7 cable is 1000Mbps, its not really used atm, and id be suprised if any retailers carry 1Mbps NICs etc, for less that the debt of a small country.
