On the Network+ Exam I know its on a 100-900 Scale.
The Exam Cram book I have suggests the lowest score to pass is 646, while I've seen different mentioned here on the forum.

What is the minimum passing score?

On a 72 Question Test how many ?'s can you miss to come up over that score?

A ? you don't answer counts the same off as one you answer wrong, correct?

Exam Cram is a bit off. Here is the actual particulars:

    Exam code: N10-003
    Format: Conventional multiple choice
    Number of questions: 85
    Passing score: 554 (scale 100-900)

The passing score is 554 out of, well, who knows. You might never know.

I believe its designed this way on purpose. Not to figure out the bare minimum questions to get right/wrong, but to actually study ALL the material as best you can. Also, I cant confirm this, but im sure some questions are weighted more than others; and I know you have some that don't count against your score.

the only number you need to worry about is 554.

    Good luck!!! :D

So if you study and know 'your stuff' pretty good then you should be fine. This is my 1st certification test I've taken so I don't know what to expect and I'm taking it tomorrow at 3PM (EST).

honestly if you already have your a+ then you have been exposed to alot of the net+ material, just not as in depth. my sybex a+ book did its own chapter on networking and even talked fairly indepth about the osi model. imo the net+ was easyer then a+ most of the test for me was more from a troubleshooting point of view.

pretty much. You must be fairly decent at every subject the exam throws at you. If you're really weak in one subject, chances are you will fail (another design aspect of most exams). Practice exams are good at informing you of your strong/weak subjects.

since this is your first test, chances are you will be nervous as hell. I can say "dont be nervous", but id be a hypocrite and a liar icon_lol.gif . Usually after the first 5-10 questions, you get in a groove. I could honestly say that the tech notes on this site are the best thing you can study right before you leave your house for the exam. They also cover most if not all the general questions you'd need to know on the exam. They have helped me out a lot.

Best of luck tomorrow!!! hope you post back here with GOOD news!

The easy way for this, assuming 900=100%
900/85= roughly 10.9 points per correctly answered question.
554/10.9= about 50.82 questions for the min score.

I am assuming that I am correct.

That could be true for one exam. However, your score could be out of 100,200,300,...,900 respectively changing the weighting of the score. Since the minimum is 554, we can assume that it is at least out of 600.
