Experience and the individual manuals that come with your hardware...and if you want to buy a desk reference...Scott Mueller's books are very good as well as Meyers A+ guide may be helpful...depends what you need.

Otherwise, the Internet and Google ;)

    'i' before 'e' except after 'c'.... weird?

You've actually answered your own question, for the most part. Yes, technical books can provide you with a solid troubleshooting foundation, if you can learn that way. They also provide you with a fallback if you can't remember something. However, in my opinion, real-life situations are your most solid reference points for building knowledge.

Oh, and Google isn't bad either. icon_wink.gif

    Google is your friend.

But actually getting one and breaking it down is by far a better experience
