Can't Ping XP Pro Box From Anything/Anywhere

Hey guys/gals, what could be causing ping to fail when trying to hit my XP Pro SP2 laptop? It fails no matter what network I'm on and no matter which network I try to ping it from; however, I can ping out to anyone from my laptop. I've tried reinstalling the TCP/IP stack and have made sure that the Windows firewall is turned off. I've even gone through task-manager and shutdown processes one by one until there is nothing left but system services. This is the case with 2 others on my team at work; however, the rest of the team can be pinged. What gives? Thanks!

Disregard; my VPN client's service was running in the background...hidden, and was blocking ping. Thanks.
