Planning to Pass the ICND in 2 weeks

Good Morning, as must of the people know here I passed the INTRO 2 weeks ago. I started studying for the ICND. I'm using CISCO Press ICND, and let me tell it is hard to go thru this book. I work night shift and I worked on my current job for almost 2 years and I never felt of sleep until I started to read this book. This book is like taking a sleeping pill. I check everywhere, but there is no specific ICND books. I already open a topic for the ICND Sybex, but as you know there is no ICND Sybax book. My question is should I read the the entire CCNA for Sybex or the ICND Part only (If it is separate on that book)?. By the way I have to take this test as sooner possible, because the NOC are going to need a NOC support in couple weeks. I'm the one at the front of the line, but I can see couple of guys studying for the CCNA test, so I need to passes it first.

Learning all the material required for ICND and taking the test within 2 weeks probably isn't going to be enough time. Rather than rush through the material, take your time and really learn the topics, as hard as it may seem (especially if competition exists at your job). Personally, I think it pays off down the road if you take your time.

As for there being no "ICND books", what's wrong with the Cisco Press ICND book? I used that exclusively and passed my first attempt. It might not keep you on the edge of your seat, but it does present just about everything you need for the exam.

I know it is a great book, but like I stated before it is boring. The same thing happen with the Intro. I went the entire intro Cico Press book twice, but I only read the sybex book once and all the material stock on my brain. I think Sybex book present the material in better understanding way.

and like the Sybex its a bit easier to follow. They have both an Exam Prep and an Exam Cram book.

edited - the Exam Prep and Exam Cram book would cover both Intro and ICND.

The test is very hard, I've taken it twice although the first time I took it the test messed up and didn't give me a score, second time I failed it. Basically keep all the info from the Intro fresh in your mind as it has several questions from the Intro on the test, know spanning-tree well, how and why routing tables are made and why routes are chosen over others, know OSPF, Frame-relay, and how to subnet.

I took the ICND exam last week. As borumas indicated, be sure to retain the knowledge acquired from studying the exam topics for the INTRO exam. The purpose of the ICND exam is to go into greater depth concerning the concepts learned for the INTRO, but there is not a direct one to one mapping.

Be sure you can subnet quickly to avoid not having enough of time to complete the exam.
