Is the 602 the only elective exam currently released?

If not, why does it seem that everyone on this forum is taking that one instead of 603 or 604?

If yes, when will 603 and 604 be available.

Thanks.

    I'm guessing 601 and 602 has the same material. Regardless of which u take u'll be A+. I'm taking 602 because it's the easiest

    After A+ Essentials, you choose an exam to decide what direction you want to go in the field. The following is a brief matching of exams:

    - 220-602: IT Technician;
    - 220-603: Remote Support Technician; and
    - 220-604: Depot Technician.

    Have a look at the objectives to clarify further - http://certification.comptia.org/resources/objectives.aspx .

    I do appreciate your reply, but it does not answer the questions I asked. I am fully aware of the breakdown.

    The 602 would be your best bet because it covers a large variety of work in our field. The 603 and 604 are available if you wish to take another direction.

    Thanks, mat. It seems to me that the 603 (and 604 for that matter) cover less material than the 602.

    Here's a better question.

    Since 602 covers more than either 603 or 604, do you think it will be more respected?

    I think it would benefit the candidate more if they did it. More or less, when you show that your are A+ certified, generally the only thing you show is "A+."
