is anybody a member of one? i never thought about it until I got a newsletter from www.grantham.edu asking students if they'd be interested in joing IEEE.

I'll probably do it if I can apply for the student rate. Anybody a member of that or any other professional organization?

sometimes i get free membership of the automobile association when i renew my car insurance. but that's it.

maybe if your role required you to make decisions and stuff, yes. but as a grunt in the field, i have no need.

they say these things are good for networking and getting the latest/ greatest info on technology. If nothing else, I'd like to view the 'members only' jobsearch option :D

you just need to pass one microsoft test to access the mcp member site. they've got a function where you can track your transcript, order microsoft merchandise, and request the free welcome kit.

I hope that answered the question
