Installing SP2 off an XP disc?
I have a WinXP Pro desktop machine with no service packs. I have an install CD with Windows XP Pro SP2 on it. Is it possible for me to take the SP2 files on the disc and install them to my current OS? Just curious, and figured that would be a more convenient way to go about it rather than download the files. I'm also wondering if performing an in-place upgrade with this disc would install SP2 for me. I'll obviously still need to communicate with microsoft before being allowed to run SP2, but that's nothing new.
