in CCNA & CCENT
Hi everyone,
this is ganga from hongkong. i recently had a job offer from one of the big companies in HongKong and the working environment is also good. i know some of the people in that company. they have given me 2 months to pass the ccna exam and that time ends this month. i bought a book on ccna here in hongkong and have been reading it ever since but the studying is slow because i don't have any networking background.
they just want me to get the certificate and that job is mine.
i have tried to browse on the web to get some more info's regarding how to prepare and study but have been bombarded with lots of materials.
so, can you please guide me what to study and what not to study. give me tips and suggestions how to pass this exam. i really need this job and the money as i come from a poor family background. this job would mean a great deal to me and my family.
please help me everyone.
thanks

networker050184 Mod Posts: 11,962 ModI'd suggest the exam cert guides from Cisco press. Since you have no netwroking background I would also suggest you get some hands on with the real stuff. If you can't get access to the real equipment use a simulator like bosson. Some study in network fudemantals like a Network+ study guide would help you also since you have no background. An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.

Its not impossible but its doable.
Your going to have to put in some serious hours to get the fundermentals of networking. Go to the library see if they have any books you can borrow.
Also the Cisco website is full of tons of information that can help you.
But you really need to get to grips with the CLI. As networker suggested get a sim. Or if you know someone with a router ask them to borrow it.
Good Luck. -

i really am studying the cisco books for about 6 months. but inbetween, i kinda stopped and now i am picking it up again. it is very hard for me since i don't have any networking background.
i have borrowed a 2950 switch from a friend of mine and have been trying to learn how to configure the switch but i have no clue what i am doing most of the time.
i wish i could get somebody to teach me how it is done. i tried a training centre out here but the cost is way too high for me. how am i going to get HK$9000.ganj
