OSPF - Got another one for ya...

Sorry to keep peppering you boys with all these questions... just trying to fill any grey areas I have with solid knowledge.

Was considering yesterday questions that might pop up on my exam next Thursday and considered that there could be a question on OSFP Authentication. If a question were to pop up about OSPF Routers having trouble forming adjacencies (which it most likely will) how can I check that the two Routers in question are both using the same MD5 ID key (1-255) and the same password? I'd look into this myself (and already have) but all I have is the Boson simulator which doesn't support this and I’ve found is about as much to me as condoms are to eunuch. icon_evil.gif

Thanks to anyone who responds.

The debug ip ospf events and debug ip ospf packets will both show the authentication failure I believe. The events command is the more commanly used from my experience.

Host the image at something like photobucket.com, then paste the image URL between [img][/img]

Also don't forget about the need for matching Subnet Numbers, Subnetmasks, hello/dead intervals, and area ID when establishing a neighbor. I don;t think you should worry too much about hashing and authentication untill November. IN which case you would already be a CCNA.
There is no place like 127.0.0.1 BUT 209.62.5.3 is my 127.0.0.1 away from 127.0.0.1!
