Need guidence for a Network security fresher

Hi Friends,

I am new to Networking field. I have 4 + years of experience in Software functional Testing.

I am very much keane to work on Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing.


guys please guide me, where can I start?. Which is the best certification for me and which will give me more knowledge

    Hello and welcome!

    The CompTIA Security+ is a very good foundational exam on security theory. It is not a "hands-on" technical test, but rather an overview on encryption algorithms, access control, and other security "concepts". I would suggest you start there, and then move to the more technical vendor specific certifications such as those offered by Microsoft and Cisco. You have to be good at the ins and outs of these common products before you can begin to understand the vulnerabilities and best practices associated with them. Then you could move on to something specific to pen-testing like the Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH).
