I'm currently working as a temp in a NOC providing remote technical support to techs installing new networking equipment (mainly Cisco & Juniper as well as DSL, satellite & dial backup). I have my CCNA & am just starting to think about studying for the first CCNP exam. The problem is, the company I'm working for is being sold by the end of the year & I'm worried that I'll be out of a job come December. That will give me about 6 months experience. What type of jobs/job titles should I be looking for? I figure I need to start looking soon cause December is right around the corner.
Thanks in advance!

networker050184 Mod Posts: 11,962 ModIts quite simple just look for jobs asking for someone with your experience. Job titles and responsabilities are different for each company so you can't just look for "network administrator" or "system administrator" you have to see what the duties and qualifications are. You should know what kind of work you can do.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.

I have a home lab that I've begun building recently so that will be a big help. Do you know how many months experience Cisco recommends before attempting the CCNP? I've looked all over their website & can't find it anywhere. I know some people on these boards believe that you shouldn't get your CCNP without enough experience as it looks bad, which is one of the reasons that I haven't done much about the CCNP at this point. I've only been working in the NOC for about 3 months. What's your take on that?
