Ok, I am having issues...

What does a router do when it receives a generic data packet (NOT AN ICMP packet) and has not route and no default route???

Does it

A) drop the packet

OR

b) drop the packet AND send a icmp (destination unreachable message) back to the source?

I can't figure out which one of these is true????

Im taking the test in 4 hours.... can someone answer quick before then?
A+, NET+, CCNA and CCDA = Passed.

    B.

It will Send you an ICMP message type 3 and a 0 or 1 erro code and drop the packet.

ICMP Message Type 3 means Destination Unreachable.
Error Code 0 means Net Unreachable.
Error Code 1 means Host Unreachable.
