These are two statements form the BSCI press book

1) If a network connected to router A is disconnected , Router A updates it's topology table and routing table and sends an update to it's neighbors.

2) When a neighbor receives the update it updates the neighbors table and the topology table.

It's Number 2 I ahve the proble with, wouldn't the neighbor update it's route table and topology table? why would it need to change it's neighbors table?

any help guys, cheers

The neighbor table is updated to reflect the new update sequence number for the eigrp update packet from the connected neighbor who's neighbor went down.
