Hi all,
Got strange thing ! I have 2507 and a 3com wireless router(connected to ISP). I booted the 2507 and thought that the 2 routers are connected. Got into the 2507 configure the Eth0 interface.
Now i tried to ping 3com but got nothing??
type in 2507 #sh ip interface brief
I have eth0 in up, up status. Every thing should be just fine.
Then I found that the cable was not connected to the 3com. connect them and everything went well.
My Q :
Why did i get eth0 in up, up status while the cable even was not connected ?

On the 2507 there is no external port for the ethernet 0 interface -- it communicates internally to the built in 16 port hub..... so its up even if nothing else is plugged into any of the hub ports.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -
