Poweredge 2300
Ok I'm working on that bloody poweredge lol
Slight problem though orignally the board had one slot 1 p2 processor and a terminator installed
So I took out the CPU and terminator and replaced with dual slot 1 P3 333MHZ
I have set the jumpers on the m/b to 333Mhz machine powers on and I get a CPU speed has changed consult jumpers.
What the hell is going on? lol
Also I have found after moving the jumpers around a bit the machine refuses to power on i.e if i remove the jumpers from 333mhz and reapply the jumper to the same postion i have to wait like 15 mins and then the server suddenly comes to life.
I'm pretty confused here do I have to tell the bloody thing that I am using 2 CPUS?

some idiot had stuck a label on the slot 1 P3 processor stating it's a 333mhz on closer inspection it's actually a 533Mhz so that would explain the error message I was receiving regarding the cpu speed lol ( I set the jumpers to 333mhz)
Also I solved the power issue where the Server isn't powering on I forgot to connect the power panel to the M/B sometimes I feel like hitting my head against a desk it's one of those days I guess.Microsoft's strategy to conquer the I.T industry
