Is there are particular reason I would be unable to apply 802.1q encapsulation on a particular subinterface of my router? Here's what I do:
The subinterface doesn't even seem to recognize the encapsulation command to begin with. My IOS is 12.2(32).
R0#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
R0(config)#int fa0/0.1
R0(config-subif)#encapsulation dot1q 1 native
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
R0(config-subif)#encapsulation ?
% Unrecognized command
R0(config-subif)#encapsulation
The subinterface doesn't even seem to recognize the encapsulation command to begin with. My IOS is 12.2(32).
