Some advice needed please...
ITNYC
Hey everyone. Thanks for reading my post and would greatly appreciate any input you have.
If anyone recalls my previous posts, i was put on to a server support engineer position from trade floor support but sadly the contract ended for the support services. Now myself, along with other server guys are doing trade support for the meantime until something comes up. Something is coming up now and i would like an increase in pay rate if im going to be doing more advanced work than trade floor support. My question is, What should i say to the managing director regarding an increase in pay? What's your advice on this approach? How much should i ask for if im going to be doing server support plus other duties? it would be a 5 month job. does $23/hr sound overboard? What are your opinions? Advice?. Thanks! in advance.

what are you making right now?

Like TheFORCE asked how much are you making now? If you are only making $10hr you probably are not going to get a raise that large. If you are making $20hr then you are more likely to get that much raise. It all depends on the comnpany policy on raises and other variables. Most people try to find a new job when trying to get a large increase in pay because of things like this.

Currently at $18 for trade floor support. Is $23/hr for server support a good rate?
