Some things about ROUTING are not clear to me, actually I'm
not sure about them. It's not that I'm lazy to read but
somehow I don't seem to see the exact explanation in any of
the guides/books I have. So thanks for your time reading this.
I'm not sure about any priorities in routing.
1. In "route print" report, why is the interface list in
different order then the one I specify in Network and Dial-up
Connections->Advanced->Advanced Settings>Connections ?
2. Does that "Interface list" mean any priorities at all? How do you change it?
3. Does the order "Active Routes" in that 'route print' report
mean any priorities?
4. What if I have two static routes with the same metric?
Which one would be chosen?
5. And what if they have different metric, when will the more
expensive one be chosen? Only when the cheaper one is not
avaliable?
6. Default gateways. What if someone specifies the default
gateway on several connections? What are the priorities
concertning that? I noticed that dial-up connections have an
option to take over the default gateway when connected, and
that is just fine and works just fine. Does that mean there is
not a convention what if several gateways are specified?
