I've never been to a boot camp, but the reason why is because I don't think they are worth it. How can you learn everything in a week?? Your chances of retaining knowledge that is cramed in so quick are very low. The prices are also outrageous. I've heard they are good for review. That is the only thing I would think about using one for and only if it was being payed for by work.

I see: Would it benefit me to take the into exam with the new exam coming out soon? Would I still have to take one more test?

If you take the INTRO now you can take the new ICND2 exam to complete your CCNA. I would suggest you get the Ciscopress exam certification guides by Wendel Odom wich are an excellent read if you have not already. They cover all the exam topics nicley.

I have them the one for the 640-811 exam (and the intro). THe intro portion seems almost too easy. Maybe I am ready to take the into portion. However, I wanted to take one test for both of them.....

Have you read the exam cert guide for the ICND? If you have read the cert guides and been through a couple courses you probably are ready for the exam. If you feel confident then go for it. If not you should probably get the books for the new 802 so you don't have to rush it.

A guy I work with went to the CCNP boot camp and got 3/4 of his tests done through it for his CCNP.

He has been a network admin for a little while though so had a few years of previous expierence

I agree with netwroker050184 - its nearly impossible to learn everything in a week and then test on it... even if you did and PASSED , you would definatly be sloppy.. kinda like a new shiny pair of dull scissors - they look awesome with their shiny goodness, but they are very sloppy and down right crappy at doing what their supposed to do.

You can find it at www.ciscopress.com or www.amazon.com and probably a few others.
