Absolutely gutted!

Thought the exam went quite well for my first attempt. Not quite good enough yet though. Don't have the hands on experience at work yet but went through the Academy and have used the Packet Tracer software a fair bit.

Anyway, I came home yesterday and scheduled it again for next week. Took a break last night, but back to all out studying tonight.

Still feel gutted today, but next time...it's mine!

    Scored the following:

    Planning and Designing: 100%
    Implementation & Operation: 91%
    Troubleshooting: 55%
    Technology: 61%

Any recommendations for improving on Troubleshooting and Technology? Using the Cisco Press and Sybex Books.

    Many thanks.

From the Cisco blue print tourble shooting consists of
    Troubleshooting
Utilize the OSI model as a guide for systematic network troubleshooting
    Perform LAN and VLAN troubleshooting
    Troubleshoot routing protocols
Troubleshoot IP addressing and host configuration
Troubleshoot a device as part of a working network
    Troubleshoot an access list
    Perform simple WAN troubleshooting

Its a pretty large area and could include many topics. I'd suggest you work on the show comands and understanding their output.

The best advice I can give is the following

Figure out which is right and which is wrong.. but here is the catch

The reasons why they are wrong.. WHY is it wrong,

The reasons why they are right.. WHY is it right

That will help you in the troubleshooting section.. as for the technology.. know your WAN stuff in an out from HDLC to Frame-Relay and even ISDN

It doesn't hurt to know a little bit about some CCNP level stuff on the WAN stuff either such as a bit on BGP.. etc (though its not really required)

Definitely work on your "hands-on" skills.

I had posted this in another thread, and it might also help.

Hum.... here's a good "CCNA Simulation questions" thread that passed "NDA muster"

And here's a thread about "show commands" and a couple of suggestions for books.

And if you're weak on troubleshooting there's the "CCNA Troubleshooting Tid-bits" thread
