Hi

No doubt this has been asked already, but what is the most effective study material (read book(s)) to use for the Linux+ cert? I have used Ubuntu (Dapper) on/off for a year and have it dual-booting on a couple of PCs and some rusty Unix experience.

Also, given the nature of technology and exams, how often do the exam objectives/exam number change?

The first 3 books in that link look good, just read the reviews and see what other people who purchased them think.

Also, check out www.distrowatch.com for information about different Linux distros. I haven't taken the L+ exam for a few years but I recommend using a RedHat based distro like CentOS to pratice on. Don't forget to check out the objectives for the exam on CompTIA's website before you take the exam. And usually CompTIA exams are updated every 3 to 5 years and they usually give everyone plenty of notice before the update takes place so you shouldn't have to worry about that happening.
