Hey guys
how do the sims work I mean this:
1. if I accidently abreviate a command say a 'conf t' will it dock me points for any abbreviation
of commands?
2. Do I needto take all my notes aboutthe situation like ip address, what kind of access list
they need etc prior to clicking on CLI sim? cause it might not let me return to the question?
3. so I need to save config after finishing whether typeing write memory or
copy running-config startup-config?
I have use many sims but you know, they just arent the same I bet as the rea Cisco
exam sim. It would nice to experience a real Cisco sim prior to me testing? or did
I miss where I can do this?
Thanks gurus!

It would be nice yes, if you can get your hands on some cisco equipment for practice. The sims for the exam are usually explained in detail, read it and do everything that is required, including testing what you have done. I would say that saving config after every sim is complete is pretty much essential....whether it gains you points or not.......thats up to Cisco.DevOps Engineer and Security Champion. https://blog.pash.by - I am trying to find my writing style, so please bear with me. -

Cisco provides this nifty little tutorial on how the simulations work (sorry, content of the real test won't be that easy but at least you know how to operate the controls):
http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/wwtraining/certprog/training/cert_exam_tutorial.html
In the exam it's supposed to behave like a real router/switch including "shorthand" we all use in the real world. However not all commands work and that actually helped me see a typo I had made. I'd recommend save config (if that feature works) though it may not be required unless the task description tells you to do that. If not required it won't get you any points, but surely they don't count it against you. -

Wetwombat Member Posts: 4 ■□□□□□□□□□Actually, the simlets come in two flavors:
1) The single-question simlet: You can toggle between the CLI and the network design view as much as you like. The question is in a scroll box in the top frame, and any instructions are in the left hand frame.
2) The multiple-question simlet: Each question will appear in the top frame, and (again) you can toggle between the network view and the CLI in the main frame. One important note, to navigate between the questions, DO NOT CLICK NEXT! To the left of each question in the top frame are a column of blue numbered buttons, you click on the button corresponding to the question you wish to address. Only click the Next button to exit the simlet.
Also of note: The simlets can be pissy little cows about accepting any command sequences outside the Cisco Accepted Answer, which can lead to much frustration. Trust me on this one. It causes early senility.
