Difficulty of 70-290 VS. CCNA

I just completed the CCNA 640-801 exam, and I was wondering how the difficulty of the 70-290 exam compares to it from those who have taken both. Is it as in depth as cisco tests? I have heard that it is an adaptive test. I know these are 2 completely different subjects but I am just trying to get a feel for this test as I have never taken a microsoft cert.
I have the MS training kit and planned on looking into selftestsoftware.com for testing software. Are there any other materials I should expect to obtain in studying for this exam? Any reply is much appreciated!

70-290 is WAY easier IMO.
Lower passing score (700), much longer time for the test (3hrs), you can go back on questions, sims are easy, and over all, more concise on the material, meaning CCNA covers a lot more information. -

70-290 is probably the easiest exam on the mcsa track, next to 70-270.
70-291 is the killer, and the only one I failed first time. I would say that this one is more difficult than CCNA. -

tonydotigr Member Posts: 129I haven't taken the 70-290 or 70-291 ... but from what I've seen I agree ... the 70-290 and 70-291 are a lot easier than the CCNA. Its all relative to your experience.

Claymoore Member Posts: 1,637Although I passed it on the first try - by a good margin - I thought the CCNA exam was the toughest certification exam I have taken so far. It was the first standardized test I have ever taken where I ran out of time, and I have taken some long, difficult tests in the past. It's not just the amount of information covered or the difficulty of the questions - it's the time limit. MS gives you 3.5 hours for 45 questions while Cisco gives you 90 minutes for 65 questions.
