Can anyone tell me which is the latest IOS version that works with the 2501 router?
Is it's 12.1 or 12.2?
And for the 2950 it's 12.4?
Thanks.

If you get on cisco.com there is an IOS guide that will give you IOS feature sets and memory requirements, and latest platform IOS'. Myabe someone will post a link, I'm not exactly sure where it;s at as Ihaven;t saved the link as a fav. There is no place like 127.0.0.1 BUT 209.62.5.3 is my 127.0.0.1 away from 127.0.0.1! -

2950 is a switch, their IOS is different from IOS for routers, on the 2950, I believe the latest version is 12.1, I don't think there is such a thing as 12.4 IOS for switches...
I should also mention that the latest release of IOS on a particular platform doesn't mean it's the "best"...12.3 on 2500 series only go up to IP Plus feature set, so there are lots of features that can only be found on 12.2
If in doubt, check cisco IOS navigator...it's your friend.Jack of all trades, master of none -

On the same list they had routers but I don't see 2500 series on the list so anyone can confirm for sure which is the latest IOS release for a 2501?
